Why don't you offer Chromira C-Prints and Art Prints in every size?
Because of the expense and time involved in producing Chromira C-Prints and Art Prints, we don't offer these print options in every size on our website, but that doesn't mean that you can't request a Chromira or an Art Print in the size that you're searching for: simply drop us a note on the Contact Us page, and remember to include the catalog number(s) that you're interested in. (Note that additional charges will apply to orders specifying Chromira or Art Prints in off-sizes.)
What is a Chromira C-Print?
A conventional C-Print uses focused light to expose light sensitive papers, producing the kind of prints that are commonly available at any commercial photo developing service. A Chromira C-Print uses computer controlled blue LEDs and specially prepared chemically bound paper to duplicate the darkroom process in a digital fashion, creating a print that offers tight regulation of quality control and a resolution that is comparable or equal to more expensive Lightjet prints. A Chromira C-Print offers a level of detail that the average C-Print or photo print simply can't match. (Chromiras have a glossy finish, as opposed to our Art Prints.)
What is an Art Print?
Our Art Prints are produced on large format printers using high quality archival papers with a matte finish. Art Prints are particularly suited to black and white subjects, but can be used for color reproductions as well.
What is a Photo Print?
Our Photo Prints are produced using conventional C-printing and photo printing technologies and utilize high quality archival Epson and Kodak papers.
What is an acrylic frame?
Acrylic mounts offer unusual protecton from the elements: each acrylic frame employs a rigid black acrylic substrate that is bound to the print and laminated with a special UV (ultraviolet) protective coating. The edges of the acrylic mount are beveled and smoothed to provide an attractive profile, creating a frame that is ideal for outdoor environments or places in your home that are subject to changes in temperature and humidity, like bathrooms and kitchens.
Why don't you offer the acrylic mount in every size?
We offer the acrylic mount in sizes ranging from 5x7" up to 16x20". Because of the rigidity of the acrylic substrate, it isn't practical to cut these mounts to sizes larger than 16x20".
Can I buy 8x10 inch unframed prints?
Yes, you can buy 8x10 inch unframed prints for most, but not all, of the items in our catalog. Search for 8x10s here.
Why is there a white border around my unframed print(s)?
We understand that you may choose to frame or mount our prints yourself. To help you do that, we include a white border of at least a quarter inch around most, but not all, of our unframed prints. (Note that border widths vary according to the size and type of the print.)
Why don't you offer signed prints?
Our goal is to offer high quality products at modest, affordable prices. Most art-poster websites that offer signed prints are actually selling signed pieces with printed signatures, and we don't believe that adding a printed signature adds value to a print.
Can I buy one of your prints at a store?
We hold exclusive rights to the prints in our catalog. They are available solely through Brooklyn Prints.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Print-only orders typically ship within five (5) business days from receipt of payment, and these orders are shipped through the US Postal Service via Priority Mail. Framed prints require a minimum of two (2) weeks to complete; in rare cases, depending on the size of the order and the frames involved, framing may take up to three (3) weeks. Because all of our framed prints are shipped by UPS Ground, delivery times depend on your location (if you live in the New York area, you can typically expect delivery, once the order has shipped, in one or two days).
How are your frames constructed?
Our solid wood frames are handcrafted in Brooklyn, New York and come with foam-core mounts, heavy-duty wire hangers, and rubber wall stops. Shipped frames come with plexiglass rather than glass; non-glare glass is available upon request. Click here to see previews of our available frames and a list of approximate frame dimensions, arranged by print size.
What is your refund / exchange policy?
We handle refunds and exchanges on a case-by-case basis. Contact Us immediately if you have received merchandise that is damaged or flawed.
Can I link to one of the images in your catalog?
Yes, you can link to images in our catalog. We have a flickr site set up for just that purpose. Note, however, that all images from our catalog are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced or resold.
What payment options are available?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, PayPal, and personal checks or money orders. You can pay for your purchase immediately using a credit card or PayPal account or be billed; if you choose to be billed for your order, you will receive an invoice with payment instructions.

How do I purchase a print from Brooklyn Prints?
First, find the print you want by searching the catalog, browsing the catalog, viewing a gallery slide slow, or perusing one of our categorized galleries; when the preview item interface appears in your browser, choose the options you want (framed or unframed; a smaller or larger size; matte colors or frame type) and press the Add To Cart button. When you're ready to finalize your purchase and pay for your item(s), click the Shopping Cart icon in the upper right corner of your web browser; if you are registered with us, your shipping address will automatically be entered in for you (otherwise you'll need to provide a shipping address and valid email address). Proceed to checkout by clicking the Checkout button; a new page with the applicable charges and totals will appear. If you live in New York, New York state sales tax will automatically be added to your order; if you live in New York city and your order totals more than $100, a delivery option will be available. To pay on the spot, click the Pay Now button; you will be redirected to PayPal, where you can pay with any major credit card or a valid PayPal account; to pay with a check or money order, click the Bill Me button.
How do I view detailed previews of a particular print?
There are two ways to view detailed previews of our prints. Using the preview item interface (available whenever you select a print from a search or browse list or choose the Frame It option in the slide show gallery), you can zoom in on a screen sized preview by clicking the Zoom button or you can download a screen sized preview to your browser by clicking the Download button. In Zoom mode, you can scroll up, down, left, or right in the preview window by holding and dragging with your mouse; to exit the Zoom preview, click the Return button. Note that when you Download a preview, the image will open in a new browser window; downloaded previews are stamped with watermarks for copyright protection (watermarks don't appear on any of our actual prints). To save a downloaded preview to your desktop, simply right click and provide the file with a name; then you can enlarge it in your favorite image editing program or send it to anyone you like.
How do I choose frames and mattes for the prints I want?
Select a print from one of our galleries or a search or browse list. When the preview item interface appears, click the A, B, or C Frames tab to find a frame you'd like to preview and click the particular frame you want; the Frame, Double Matte mount will automatically be selected for you, and now you can choose the mattes you want by clicking the Outer and Inner Matte squares. As you click each square, the interface will cycle through the available matte colors and a preview of your framed print will appear on the right side of the interface.
I'm looking for prints of a particular size. How do I find the size I want?
The easiest way to find prints that match a particular size is to use our Search feature. When you reach the Search page, leave the keyword fields blank and choose the size you're interested in from the drop down Sizes list. Hit the Search button; if we have prints in our catalog that match the size you selected, they will show up in an ordered search list. Click any of the thumbnails or catalog titles to preview an item or choose framing options for it.
How does the Search feature work?
Our Search feature searches the titles, descriptions, and sizes of all of the available prints in our catalog. There's no need to use the word AND or the wildcard character ("*") when you're entering keywords into the search fields, nor do you need to use quotation marks. If you want to find every item that contains the word "bridge," for instance, you would simply enter "bridge" in the first keyword field and click the Search button; items that have the words "Bridge," "bridge," or "bridges" will be pulled up.
What / where are the prices for each item?
Because of the number of options available for each print, prices for each item appear in only two (2) places: in the preview item interface and in your shopping cart. In the preview item interface, the price for the print with the options you've selected will always show up in the lower right side of the interface, not far from the Add To Cart button. You can peruse our full price list here.
How do I change my email address, my shipping address, or my password?
